My monitor displays a black screen and says no signal even when I turn on my computer. I though maybe the wire is damaged, I tried the attachment wire on another monitor and it worked. Now I am sure it is a problem with my monitor. What is wrong with my monitor? How can I repair it if it is possible? Can it be a driver issue?

If your monitor displays a black screen and says no signal it could be a possible POST issue or possible some dust on your computer CMOS, RAM and VGA card since you already tested the cable. To check if it is a POST issue (Power On Self Test) try to listen if you can hear beeps on your computer when you turn it on and if yes then try to clean the CMOS, RAM and VGA card of your computer. If you are using a desktop try to open the CPU then clean the CMOS, RAM and VGA card, check the pictures below for the parts.

If cleaning the VGA card, RAM, and CMOS doesn't fix the problem try connecting a different monitor and if the new monitor works then your old monitor needs to be replaced.
