Hey , the minimum disk for raid 5 mainly consist of 5 block levels with the distributed parity’s. In this if a single driver fails the subsequent reads can be calculated from the parity as there should be no loss of data’s. Raid 5 needs at least 3 disks i.e. Disk 0 , disk 1 , disk 2 and disk 3. It is used for mirroring, stripping etc depending upon the process and raid 5 is a distributed parity. Also the read performance is gradually increased in raid 5.
