Migrating SBS 2008 to SBS 2011

I upgraded my Windows Small Business Server 2008 to 2011. I followed all the steps needed.  After that, I tried to run dcpromo command on the old server but I am receiving error stating that there is No Domain Controller to Promote. My current workstations are working correctly except for my Exchange Server. My question now is how can I resolve this? How can I make my Windows SBS 2011 as my domain controller and remove SBS 2008? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

I guess you will need to do configurations to the current small business server 2011 that you updated from the former small business server 2008. You will need to get the documentation that comes with that application and follow the steps of every configuration that you need to make, because there is something that you may have not done that is making the server not work properly.

If you not have the manual or the documentation, then you will need to contact the Microsoft support staff and let them guide you through the procedures for troubleshooting that problem. You may also try getting the documentation from the Microsoft website, it should be there.
