While trying to access the mail merge for Microsoft access suddenly it hangs and it shows an error message like this photo.

Hello BDLord,

That message occurred because your MS access program encountered some problems with its components. First try to close your MS access then try to run again and do the mail merge. If that message still occurs, then you have to uninstall and re-install again. Because there are some corrupt from MS office components.

Database structure is very critical. There could be some incomplete database structure in your Access 2007 application. Remember this is an application and it needs to run under given conditions. So if you also did not normalize your database well then such an issue can arise.

If the problem persists then a recent hardware or software installation could be causing the problem. Try system restore and see if this solves. In most cases it is the first aid remedy for such responses.
