I am facing a problem with opening of my document online. When I try to open it, I receive below error:
Microsoft Word Web App
Sorry, there was a problem and we can’t open this document this happens again try opening the document in Microsoft Word.
Is there anyone who can help me to figure out this problem?

This happens due to compatibility problem. All you have to do is to follow the message prompt and open the document in Microsoft Word. MS Word can open almost all doc files except those documents which are saved in Open Office format which is a program like MS Word. Once opened, save the file in a format required to be opened online.

The error you are getting indicates that Office Web App is not working in your sharepoint site. You will need to inform your System Administrator about this so he can fix the problem. The Sharepoint Management Shell should be run as an administrator for you to be able to access these online documents.

If you have Administrator privileges, you may run the following commands in your management shell to fix the issue:

$config = (Get-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig)
$config.AllowOAuthOverHttp = $true
$config.Update()
