Hi there,

When I am opening the Microsoft Visual studio, I am getting this error message recently. But I am not interested in using the Team Foundation feature in visual studio. How to get rid of this error? I don’t like this pop up message, disturbs me a lot. Do I need to have the TFS power tool? Please suggest me some ideas, thanks in advance.

It seems that this is a feature in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2008 where it can interface with Windows Live Messenger while working with Visual Studio. If this feature is fine with you and you see this error on your screen, just log in to your Windows Live Messenger account to fix it.

To avoid seeing this error again in the future, make sure to login to your Windows Live Messenger account before opening Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. But in case you don’t want this feature in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and you want to disable it or deactivate it, you can always do so.

This will surely remove the annoying popup from appearing on your screen if you are not logged in to Windows Live Messenger. To disable it, open Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Team Explorer, right-click on Team Members, and select Personal Settings. In Collaboration, click Change. When a dialog box opens, select None and hit OK. See if this fixes the problem.
