Hi there,

I have this error with DirectX and I cannot solve it. My researches on the Internet have zero results and I can’t get rid of it. Does anyone have any idea how can this error be solved? I did something wrong in my PC?

Thank you!

If you are experiencing this error with the “d3dref9.dll” file that comes with Microsoft DirectX SDK, the file may be missing or damaged. This DLL file is different from the DLL file of Microsoft DirectX because it is from the Software Development Kit package which is used very differently. Since we have no idea on the status of the file, the best way to check it is to reinstall Microsoft DirectX Software Development Kit.

Don’t worry if you no longer have the installer because you can always download it from the Microsoft website. Uninstall Microsoft DirectX Software Development Kit then restart your computer. Download DirectX Software Development Kit and then install it on your computer. It works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 as well as Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.

It works both on x86 and x64 Microsoft Windows so it will surely work even if you are using 64-bit Windows 7. Try it again and see if it works.
