I heard that Microsoft recently released the second beta version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express, the replacement product for MSDE 2000. So is this Microsoft SQL Server 2005 beta 2 compatible with Windows XP (32-bit version, 600MHz processor and 256MB RAM)?

Yes Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express is compatible with your Windows XP, but with that kind of processor and memory. If your database becomes large it may have a hard time reading and retrieving your data from tables. MSQL Express as we all know just give us the basic functionality of the application so if you got 1000+ data from your table you might have a hard time getting it because of your processor and memory. I suggest upgrading your machine to a higher processor and memory would resolve the future issue you might encounter.
