I am using windows 7 fresh installed on my desktop, now I am trying to install Office 2010 its giving an error saying that to uninstall previous version of Office. But I never installed office package.

Microsoft Office 2010

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):

Microsoft Office 2010 does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of Microsoft Office 2010. You must first uninstall any prerelease versions of Microsoft Office 2010 products and associated technologies.

Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.

Dear Richard L Brown,

Your version of Microsoft Office 2010 cannot be installed while another version of MS Office still exists in your system. You should uninstall the old version by going to Add/Remove program, choose the older Office package, and select Uninstall.

Then you can now re-open the installation program and select what you need from the package and it will run without any conflict.

Hello Richard,

It seems that you still have an older version of the MS office. This error is the indication of the existence of an old version. If you have installed fresh copy of Windows 7, it means it won't be installed in C drive. So the solution is:

1- Check your other drives for any version of MS office which will be there, uninstall it by visiting control panel. If it does not help install CCleaner.

2- Also manually delete the left files.

3- Restart your computer.

4- Reinstall the latest version.

Thanks
