Hello everyone,

Hope some one can help me with this. In my workplace I have XP Pro SP2. I had installed Microsoft office 2007 Pro, and I used it with no problems.

About 2 weeks ago my excel didn't open, so the geniuses at our help desk decided to uninstall the office, but when we tried to install it couldn't. Now whenever I try to install office 2007 or 2003 I get error 1935.

Error 1935: An error occurred during the installation of assembly

Hi Sonia,

I suspect the error is being caused by some third party programs that are running on your computer such as win tools, win easy, web search, easy installer and HP component manager if you are using a HP computer. They could be removed by running an antispyware program.

After you have downloaded the program, run it, type appwiz.cpl, and click ok.

Under currently installed programs and updates, check to see if the programs mentioned above are listed. If they are, click on remove to get rid of them.

Empty temporary files by executing CDWindowsTemp in the command prompt. Empty the recycle bin also.

Try reinstalling office and see if it works.

Hope this helps.

Hello Sonia-sherry,

This error is due to a damage in your Microsoft .net Framework, one of the files for this program may be in one way or the other corrupt.

1. In your control panel, double click on 'add or remove programs'.

  • In the list, look for Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 or 1.1 and click on remove or change.
  • In the dialog box, 'windows installer' click on Repair and then next. Try reinstalling office 2007 and if it fails. You will need to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft .net framework. To do this.

2. Go back to the control panel and click on add or remove programs look for microsoft .net framework and click on change or remove, uninstall the program. Get a new copy of Microsoft .net framework by either downloading it directly from the microsoft website or from your installation Disk. After, install your Microsoft office 2007.

Hi,

You need to restart the computer and start the setup again. Check if the problem is still there or has vanished. If the problem still persist then in that case you need to follow below steps.

You need to at first run the system update readiness tool.

You then need to repair or update the dot net framework components.

Or you may try to uninstall and then reinstall the dot net framework components.

After performing any one of the above methods try to install the ms office 2010 software again.

Any of these methods will solve your problem.
