Hi, I am posting here an error message that I've encountered while using MS Access.

I pasted below the error message screen of the error message for you to have a clear view of my problem.

Microsoft Office Access

ODBC—call failed.

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired (#0)

                                Ok                          Help

As I looked at the error and thought about it, I was very confused about what to do.

The first that came to my mind was a virus attack.

So, I did a virus scan to my computer but no virus was found since I am very careful in using my computer.

That's all in my mind in solving this issue.

Please share some solution to my problem.

Thanks a lot.

Hello Friends,

Microsoft Office Access

ODBC—call failed.

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired (#0)

  1. Try changing the design view and then find empty area of the query where the tables are shown. Then right-click and just select Properties.
  2. Check the time out column and make sure that it says 0.
  3. Mostly there is problem as timeout is set to some value other than 0. And then after changing it to 0, the problem gets solved.

Hope it helps. This must solve your problem.

Thanks and regards,

Dyna

Hi Jamesfield,

  • This error related to Microsoft Access, especially when you try to open a cross query with SQL Server 2000 or 2005 DB but during the limited expectable time query didn’t fetch records.
  • You can change the time-out gap in registry relevant to ODBC. In Microsoft Environment, JET 4.0 engine is used for Microsoft Access.
  • To resolve these issues, please follow the steps one by one as given below in to image. Please provide feedback as well.
