I have recently been interested with the MGI Photo Suite after my college graduation because I would like to share all my graduation photos with friends and family. I did a small search on the internet and landed on CNET where I downloaded MGI Photo Suite 4 and installed in on Windows 7. But just on a few steps of installation I got a bad image error as shown below. Any help will be appreciated.

Error Image:

Image Error: Rundll32.exe Bad image

The application or DU. C:W1NDOW5system32msctflme.Ime Is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

Hi violet,
The error is caused because windows system files are damaged.
The solution to it is:
1) Start your computer and log on as administrator
2) Click 'Start' button, Select 'All Programs'
3) Select 'System Tools', Click 'System Restore'
4) Select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' option, Click 'Next'
5) Restart the system

Hi Violet,

This error might be occurring due malwares and spyware. I would like to suggest you to run an anti-malware. You can download this anti-malware tool here. You should also try to clean your registry to improve your start up. You can use CCleaner, you can download it here. After downloading and installing it, run CCleaner, then click on registry and let it scan. Fix what error it finds.

I hope this will help you.

In any application you install on the computer, a “bad image” error is often a sign that the program you are installing is not compatible. This normally happens with the version of the program: the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. If your operating system is 32-bit, you can’t install any 64-bit applications. But if your operating system is 64-bit, normally, you can install both 32-bit and 64-bit applications.

But sometimes it depends on the application you are installing. If you want to install MGI Photosuite 4, check that your computer meets the requirements. MGI Photosuite 4 supports Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium, Windows NT 4 Service Pack 3, and Windows 2000.

It requires Intel Pentium 166 with MMX support, 32 MB RAM, 24-bit true color SVGA video card with 2 MB video RAM, 800 x 600 minimum screen resolution, and 200 MB free space. If your operating system is much newer than any of the supported platforms, try running the program in compatibility mode. Right-click MGI Photosuite 4 and select “Properties”.

In the “Properties” window, go to “Compatibility” tab and check “Run this program in compatibility mode for”. Next, select a supported operating system from the dropdown list then click “OK”. In case none of the supported operating systems appear on the list, try selecting the oldest version of Windows. Start the program then see if it works.
