The blue screen memory dump occurs when your computer crashes. Win2000 do crash every once awhile. Instead of freezing up and having to press that reset button in Win98Win2000 does it for you with the memory dump screen and then restart without you pressing that reset button. It's Microsoft's way of saying, we still haven't improve Window's stability, but we'll do the restart for you.

There is a solution mention above, stating to change your virtual memory of min and max to the same. But that will only cut down the possibility of happening. It will still happen if you do hardcore stuff that eats up memory on your computer. You do have the option of not having Win2000 do the memory dump, but that will bring you back to the old Win98 freeze up days.

My Computer > Properties > Advance Tap > Startup and Recovery.

Under Write Debugging Information, select None.

If you are looking for a permanent way of fixing this problem, there is only one total perfect solution.
