Hi, Suddenly my windows media player has stopped playing the .mkv and .avi files.

It is showing an error c00d1199 which is new to me. I updated the system, but the problem seemed to be unsolved.

Please supply me some solution to get this fixed quickly.

Thanks.

I’m not sure if I see it right, you are trying to play videos with .mkv and .avi file extensions on your Windows Media Player.

You can consider playing .avi files on Windows Media Player because this video format is supported by the media player.

But the video file with .mkv as its extension name,

I’m not sure if you can play this one because this is not supported by Windows Media Player.

Videos with .mkv as extensions can be played using DivX Plus Player so you need to install DivX Plus on your computer.

You can download DivX Plus software from DivX’s official web site.

You can check Windows Media Player’s supported video formats by clicking on Options then File Types tab.

You will see there the list of file types supported by the media player.
