Hi,

Is there something wrong with my computer because I keep getting this error message? It doesn’t matter whether I send error report or click on don't send it. It closes down my media player.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Hallo Domin,

I wish you could have included what the exact error message you are getting to make it easier to troubleshoot. Is it something a message that asks you whether to send an error report or not? If that is it,  you should try the following:

You should try register using the correct Wmpui.dll file for the one that is being used now may be wrong. Here is how you do it::

  1. On your computer, click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, you will need to type the following command, and then click OK:
    regsvr32 %SystemRoot%\system32\wmpui.dll

    You will get a message that is similar to the following:

    DllRegisterServer in C:\WINNT\system32\wmpui.dll succeeded.
  3. After that click OK, and then start Windows Media Player again.

If you do the above and then still get the error, I will recommend reinstalling and using less installation options, and make sure that the application you are installing is supported by your system requirements.
