Hi all,

I am receiving the following McAfee update error message on VSE 8.7: "The application or dll c:\program files\mcafee\virusscan enterprise\vsupdate.dll is not a valid windows image.

Please check this against your Installation diskette.” What is the reason of this error?

I need a solution.

Please help.

Hallo Linda,

The error you are getting in windows implies that the file you are running is corrupted, and therefore you will need to do the following:

  • Go to the internet and redownload the file.
  • After that try reinstalling using the file you just downloaded.

You will also need to check if you have had  a failed service pack installation,  or if  you could have done something on your computer that could have left the dll files damaged,. You can go ahead and try using the vse repair option as well from the help menu in the vse console and see if that will help.
