MapInstall could not find any installed products

Hi all,

Yesterday I installed the Garmin mapinstall and it was installed successfully but when I tried to open it, I got an error.

The screenshot of the error is as follows: I have MapInstall installed. I tried to run it, but somehow got stuck with this error Mapinstall could not find any installed products.

Please install one or more Mapsource products and start Mapinstall again. I also have installed the latest version of MapSource from Garmin home page. But I did this by opening a main.msi file with WinRAR instead of an executable installer.

Maybe this information could be of help to fix this.

MapInstall could not find any installed products. Please install one or more MapSource products and start MapInstall again.

I have installed mapsource from the Garmin homepage, and it is the newest version. Can anyone please tell me what might be the reason behind this error?

Hello Jafet, this is a bit tricky to install. But with my help you will learn how to install it:

Step 1: First go to this website http://www.garmin.com/en-US

Step 2: Put your mouse pointer over Support and click on Software.

Step 3: Then click on Mapping Programs but do not start installing MapSource as yet.

Step 4: Then install Base Camp. When you install Base Camp this will allow you to install MapSource. 

Step 5: Then install MapSource from the Software page as in point 1.

Step 6: When you install MapSource, and run it, you will get an error message saying: “MapSource could not find any installed MapSource map products. Please install one or more MapSource map products and start MapSource again.” All you have to do now is install a map to Mapsource.
