If you are using x64 Macrium Reflect 5.1 on Windows 8.1, I don’t think that will work because Macrium Reflect 5.1.5299’s support is only until Windows 8. Also, this version you are using is kind of outdated though it still supports Windows 8. To make sure you are using the latest version, download and upgrade to Macrium Reflect 5.3.7149.
It requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 as well as Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012 both x86 and x64. The latest version is provided with a free 30-day trial period. After upgrading, try it again and see if it works. If it doesn’t, check your hard drive for possible errors.
You can use Windows Scandisk to check drive C or download and use PC Tools Performance Toolkit. It requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. To check drive C using PC Tools Performance Toolkit, start PC Tools Performance Toolkit, select Recovery tab then click Repair Drives. Select drive C in the drives to check then select Check Drive under Select Drive Operation and then click Start. See image.
If you found an error, try fixing it first before running Macrium Reflect again. One possible reason why an error was caught during the operation is a possible error in the file system. If this happens, you need to fix it first before you can continue backing up your hard drive using Macrium Reflect.
