Hi everyone,

I recently created a topology on Lync 2013 and when I try to enable the topology I get an error. The process completes but then with error. Will I be able to use the topology with these errors? Why did the errors occur?

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Your topology has been successfully published, but some errors were encountered. For details, check the log file.

Lync 2013 – Enabling Topology Completed With Errors

The reason for this error is that the Topology Builder uses the names of the most recently used servers as preferred servers in the cache. If these are offline or not possible to reach, the topology cannot publish even if there are other servers available.

The solution is to install the cumulative update (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36820) for your version of the Lync Server. You can find it from www.microsoft.com under downloads in case the exact link should change over time.

It is also possible to work around this issue with the following command:

Enable-CSTopology  -> GlobalCatalog Fqdn  -> GlobalSettingsDomainController Fqdn  -> SkipPrepareCheck $True
