We are planning to transform Lotus Notes to SharePoint. We are fully aware that the process entails a rigorous undertaking. In order for us to have a good grasp about this, we are looking for some advice from people who have the knowledge and experience of the entire transformation process.

We are aiming to transform Lotus Notes into SharePoint without diminishing the original data and objects. We are particularly interested on what conversion tool to be used. An expert insight on this matter would be very much appreciated.

You can create a backup of all the data on to a server just for the sake of preserving the data during the transferring process.

There are few ways to transfer from lotus notes to SharePoint through html ,basic pages or wiki, web part pages etc.

There are few changed that have been made particularly in regard of this conversion that you need to look into.

HTML pages that are being used are secured now and if you try to transfer them to SharePoint, the page display in the SharePoint will not be the same as it was in the lotus notes. but if your html file is not that complicated then it can by pass this situation.

No importance of the basic pages are now offered in the SharePoint. so if you have any of these then you have to convert it and then use it

Everything in the SharePoint is somehow related to the wiki pages. you can say that the wiki pages are the whole game in this thing. So you have to transfer the pages into wiki pages in order to achieve the maximum output after the transformation process.

During the transformation process, make sure that you use the same path for the new files so that the applications that are using the old path don't have any problem in getting the contents from the new location.
