The problem aroused because of using both the programs interchangeably as Lotus Notes has the NSF file format while Outlook has a PST file format.

To overcome this issue, you have to convert the files before switching from Lotus Notes to Outlook:

Open Lotus Notes then click File->Export and select the type of format either "Tabular Text" or "Structured Text;" Continue through the "Export" wizard by choosing a file location and create an exported file.

Open Microsoft Outlook then click File->Import and Export-> Import from another program or file .Click "Next" then choose "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" or "Tab Separated Values (Windows)" depending on type to export the file as and click "Next"  to browse for the file,  select  and then click "Open." Continue through the wizard, by clicking "Finish" at the end, to finish importing the Lotus Notes file into Outlook.

Hope this helps you better.
