Access other PC from other country remotely

My mom lives in Canada and I am in Sweden. She knows very little about computers. She only can start and shut down the PC and also can use Skype or play music, but not more than that.

Sometimes it becomes very essential to install some software’s or scan the PC to remove virus etc., which are very difficult for her to do alone. It will be very helpful for us, if there is a solution, where I can access her PC from Sweden through internet remotely and install the program or scan using Antivirus. It will not be a problem if permission is needed because she will be there to accept my request to access her PC. I just need a simple yet powerful way to do this.

Hi, Of Course, you can access different machine remotely. And if you have a minimum administrator rights. Another solution which I have come across is to modify your registry which will require you to create a backup first before proceeding. Please go through the following information to do so:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then double-click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa ;
  3. In the right pane, double-click restrict anonymous ;
  4. Make sure that the value in the Value data box is set to 0, and then click OK;
  5. Close Registry Editor.
  6. Restart the computer.

If the PC is a part of a Global network then, it means that it is just like many computers which are in this world and that is not a part of local area network. In this case, you cannot access a global network because it uses different techniques to manage a network.

However, if you have the IP address then, you can check whether your computer is connected which that computer or not. To check this, go to start and then RUN and type CMD and then press enter; in a new window type, ping (IP of your friend) also for global you can use tracert (IP of your friend) .

After this your PC will try to connect the other computer, which is located in global network. Once done and you find that this IP matches your PC and there is no data loss in your request, then you can do the following things:

  • You can share your folders with other computer.
  • You can chat with each other.
  • You can play a game using network.
  • And you can control the PC for different programs but it must be part of your domain and login to your domain to make it possible.
  • If you are not able to connect, try searching for any software that will allow you to access other people's computer remotely.
