I am working with pivot table and facing some problems. The pivot tables in which I want to avoid the row selection permanently to a set of specific items, for example excluding any new fields when refreshing the pivot table. Is this possible in a pivot table?

You can exclude new fields when refreshing the pivot table if your files are link with each other or you are importing some data from an outside or external source, or you are using online processing application. You can retrieve and update your data. It will not refresh by itself, you have to set up your Pivot Table properties to automatic refresh. You can also manually refresh your table by it setting-up under ‘tools menu’ or easy as clicking your Pivot Table and hit refresh.

This feature is more accessible if you are using Microsoft Excel 2007 and 2010.
