Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

Hello people,

I am having a hard time using LogMeIn application, when I want to connect to my friends computer,

I encountered an error of username and password error, I posted here the screen shot of the error.

Error (login): Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

As I looked upon the error, its seems too easy, since it was just a username and password issue, when I keep on checking the username and password I typed, its always correct, and I am wondering why I get an error of wrong username and password, I looked on the internet for some solution I found nothing, that is why I am posting my issue to this site for some help,

Please help me,

Hello,

  • I have an option but just hoping this may help, Turn off all the devices connected in your router besides your iPhone or iPad and the computer you are trying to connect, Check the IP addresses to make sure they no duplicates and are unique, then try logging in Logmein website,  make sure you can login your desktop, double check the username name account in system preferences and make sure you have typed it exactly, you can also change it from full name or just simply first name to minimize some error spacing.
  • If not, you can also check the router if it has the latest firmware, or you can also click logmein options and connection events monitor then try logging in from your mobile device and see what shows up.
  • If none of these works, then maybe it’s your router, try replacing your router then repeat the steps above.

Try this solution for your problem.

  1. Carefully watch your spelling and check if the CAPSLOCK is on. This can affect in entering your user name and password.
  2. Check your internet connection. Without internet you cant log-in.
  3. Try to download the latest update of this software and re-install it.
  4. Sometimes it really happen Try Again later. Maybe it will work. Because sometimes this issues happens to YM.
