Hi guys. I just created a desktop shortcut for Yahoo. When I launch the shortcut and try to log-in, it gives an error of "Error 999". What gives? Could this be a login desktop page Yahoo problem? I'm on Windows 8. Thanks.

Error 999 tells you that you are unable to process a request. Try to adjust your firewall settings, some third party firewall block yahoo. Just disable your firewall temporarily and try to log in again, if these steps work for you, check your firewall to allow your yahoo to connect to the net.

Other fields to check on:
Time and Date – it must be updated and correctly formatted.
Scan your computer- this is to remove viruses and malware that attack your system.
Use another browser- if you are using IE try to use another browser like chrome, Firefox etc.Â
Use your own IP address- Do not use a proxy
