Live Update Error on Mac

On initiating updates, I now simply get the message Updating error There was an error performing the update. There seems no way to get any further information about what error or why. My subscription still has 6-8 months to run.

All other aspects of Norton (and of my MacBook) are working normally. Can anyone explain why the LiveUpdate function is not working? I'm using Internet Security for Mac with Mac OS Leopard. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Live Update Error on Mac

There seems to be an incompatibility issue or bug in the in-built updater specific to the Mac version of the Antivirus software.

However, a work around for this issue is installing the Liveupdate version 5.1.2 using the link given in the end of this paragraph. This remedy works if you have an older Liveupdate version installed.

Another thing to note is that this will not work for those users who have purchased the software via Comcast.

A separate updater version will be released for the users who bought the software through Comcast.

Simply put if you have a Liveupdate version below 5.1.2, then install the newer one use this link to resolve the updating problem on Mac systems.

If your Liveupdate Version is not 5.1.2, you can try this updater.
