I downloaded Arcsoft Total Media Backup as my data backup software. Is there a limit with drive Total Media per Windows 7 that could be supported? How much space per drive does it need in Windows 7 for the backup to succeed? Is it exactly the same with the space to be backed up? Thanks!

Hi Julien,

Let me keep you informed on how the backup in the computer works. When you select the files to be backed up, the software immediately collects all the information from the files and then determines the total amount of space that the file will consume on the drive. This is the first process that will be performed.

Next the software will check the drive if there is enough space so that the files that are backed up could be saved on the drive, once it gets the go signal, then the software will compress the files so that it could save up maximum space and then create a folder on the drive and place the backup of all the files as a single file which can later on be used to restore the data that has been backed up.

So I would straight forward explain to you that the size required by the software Arcsoft Total Media Backup is same as the size of data to be  backed up.

Hope this has helped you.
