Lightroom 3 Metadata Error when Editing Image

I am working with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 without having any problems. But when I am making any changes in the image, an error message is coming which says that ‘An unknown error occurred when writing metadata to this picture. Do you want to retry?’ It gives me three options such as Retry Metadata Export, Cancel and Import settings. If I select the ‘Retry Metadata Export’ it says ‘It is not able to write metadata because the drive space is less than 1GB. The original picture is saved in external drive and imported to Lightroom.  I don’t know why this is happening. Are they asking for a hard disk space or Lightroom space? I have tried by removing the folder from the Lightroom, but there was no change in the result. If anybody knows why this is happening, please help me.

Lightroom 3 Metadata Error when Editing Image

I guess what the error message is implying is a hard disk space and not a lightroom folder space. You may be running on low disk space especially on the primary hard drive partition that has folders that are used to host the lightroom files. You will therefore need to empty the hard disk to create some free space so as the files will be saved without bringing that error again. You can run disk cleanup to remove any files that are unused or are broken and just taking up space on the hard disk. In case the lightroom application continues malfunctioning then you may need to reinstall it because the problem may be as a result of a bug in the program.
