Hello to all,

Why my left mouse button/click is not working? The cursor is working because it moves every time I move the mouse but when I click something like the OK button etc. It won't respond. I can't highlight and copy/cut/paste unless I use my keyboard. This is really horrible. Please help me. Thanks.

You most likely have a defective mouse if that’s the case. Even if the cursor moves and the right click button still works, the mechanism that makes the left mouse button work may already be faulty and is not anymore functional.

Try and see if you can use the mouse on another computer and see if it gives you the same results there. Chances are it will. If this is the mouse behavior as soon as your operating system is loaded, anywhere you click it’s the same and in any application, then you may need to get a new mouse.

Hello there!

You may try to check your mouse if the button's function had been reassigned to a keyboard shortcut. Try to reset the software to the default, then restart the computer. The mouse will usually work normally after this. Go to the Control Panel > Mouse Properties > Button tab.

There is a list of settings there that you can check out. Also, when did you last clean your mouse? Maybe your mouse is just dirty inside. Try to open it and clean it. Trust me, it does not take much to screw up a mouse. Good Luck to you!
