Hi. To learn how to password protect an Adobe PDF, first open the PDF document and click on tools, protect, encrypt and finally encrypt with password. Click on yes to continue with the process. Type the password that you want to put for the PDF after selecting require a password to open the document option. Make sure that the password which you are setting is strong. From the drop-down menu of compatibility, click on the Acrobat version and then click on the encryption option which can be to encrypt all the contents of the document, encrypt all contents except metadata or encrypt only the file attachments. After the encryption option is selected, click on OK and type the password again to confirm the password and click on OK.

You can also restrict the editing to your PDF document by opening the PDF and then clicking on tools, protect and then restrict editing. Next, click on yes to continue with the process. Type the password for securing your PDF and ensure that the strength of the password is strong. Click on OK and save the PDF.

Hope we helped.
