Hi. I do not belong to an IT background, and do not have knowledge about the computer parts. I have recently bought ink for Epson Stylus Photo R200, and I want to learn the steps to set the printer to black and white instead of coloured prints. Please reply ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Hi. The steps to make the ink for Epson Stylus Photo R200 to print in black and white instead of coloured print. In Windows, click on printer settings after the printer icon is right-clicked on. Then, select the Advanced button after which select the option of black ink only. Next, click on OK and then click on the print so that printing can be started. In Mac OS X, first click on the page setup from the file menu, click on Stylus Photo R200 from the format menu. Then, close the page setup window by clicking on OK. From the file menu, click on the print option.

Then, from the drop-down list of the printer, click on the Stylus Photo R200. Then, click on the print settings after selecting the copies and pages option. From the drop-down list of colours, click on the black and then start printing by clicking on the print option.

By default, when you print documents it is in black color unless you change the color of the text. But for images it is always in color. The color of the image in the print or hard copy always depends on the source image. If the image you want to print is in full color then your hard copy will have the print in full color as well.

There is no option in the printer to make the print black and white because the color is handled by the application you are using like Microsoft Office Word, Adobe Photoshop, and others. If you want to change the image in the print to black and white then you need to convert your source image first to black and white.

You can find the option to change the color in your application. For example, in Photoshop, load your image then go to “Image,” “Mode” then select “Grayscale.” Save the file with a new filename then print it. The print should be in black and white.
