We may get this kind of problem while updating our computer windows and trying to install the updates. There may be a hard disk problem.First step is to try troubleshooting the error. If this doesn’t help run a full hard disk check using these steps. Open my computer and click on tools in c: drive properties. Click on check now and select start to start the procedure. The windows will perform a full disk check disk before reloading. You may need to back up your data. Hope this helps.

Error code “8007045d” means:

ERROR_IO_DEVICE – The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

Since this error is related to a problem with an input/output device, try checking your drive first for errors. Try downloading PC Tools Performance Toolkit and install. Once installed, start PC Tools then go to “Recovery” tab and click “Repair Drives.” On the next screen, select the drive you want to check. From the options, select “Surface Scan” and check “Perform on reboot.”

Click “Start” then “Continue.” Exit PC Tools then restart the computer to begin the check. The checking will be quite long depending on the size of the drive and the extent of the problem. If bad sectors were found, try repeating the scan a second time. Bad sectors are normal for hard drives and usually appear as the drive gets older.

If bad sectors appear everywhere on the drive and the drive is quite old, it means you need to replace the drive with a new one. You can also check the partition structure of your drive for errors. After clicking “Repair Drives” in PC Tools, select “Check Partition Structure” in the options then click “Start.”

This will check all the partitions on the drive for errors.
