If anyone knows regarding the VDI hardware requirements, please tell about the h/w requirements for VMWare 5.5 VDI per person.

I feel that you are going to need hardware for proper use. VDI is quite datastore intensive, as well as memory available for clients.
It is the specification of VDI Machines which are required for our users.
Initially, we started with one CPU and 4GB, and during our performance tests, with our user’s reports, office application load, after one year of testing methodologies, it was the perfect software for us.
Windows 8 – 2vCPU, 8GB RAM.
Windows 7 – 2vCPU, 6GB RAM.
