I just have a query about upgrade 2008 r2 to 2012 r2. I have no idea regarding this concept at all.

First, insert the server 2012 DVD into the system and start Setup.exe.
On the Setup screen, go to Install now.
If you wish to get security updates and recent drivers for your OS, then click on Go online to install updates now.
Input your product key for server 2012 and select Next.
Now, the upgrade will take around 20 minutes. Relax until the upgrade is over.
