Microsoft Monitoring Agent is an agent that replaces the Operations Manager Agent.
Microsoft Monitoring Agent can be used as a stand-alone tool or along with Operations Manager to monitor web applications written on the .NET Framework. In both the cases, you can save the traces of application in an IntelliTrace log format which can then be displayed in Visual Studio Ultimate. It also contains detailed information about the application failures and the performance issues.
