Latest QuickTime fails to play mkv files on Mac

Hi,

I recently bought a new Mac Operating System and installed a latest version of QuickTime Player.

When I attempted to play mkv files using in QuickTime Player it gave me this following error message saying “The document “SuperSpeedy.mkv” could not be opened. QuickTime Player cannot open files of this type”.

I need your suggestion so help me.

The reason why you cannot open mkv files in QuickTime Player is because it doesn't natively support mkv. The solution to this is to convert mkv in Mac OS X. I recommend you to use Wonder share video Converter Pro for Mac.

It lets you convert Mkv files to any video format for various players. For QuickTime you should convert Mkv to Mov associated with QuickTime.
