Hello! I am a laptop user and I have the functionality of Bluetooth in my laptop. The problem is that when I transfer something from my laptop to some other device, let it be a mobile phone or another laptop, it works fine. I have transferred a lot of pictures and music from my laptop to other devices. But when I try to transfer something from another device to my laptop, it shows error that the transfer could not be completed properly. Why does this happen? If my laptop can send the data, it should be able to retrieve data as well, right? Any suggestions?

Hello Katherine!

Pairing your laptop is the best way that you did here. Though you can transfer files to cell phone but you cannot retrieve files from that cell phone. Please make it sure that all settings for your laptop are open and activated to transfer files easily. In certain cell phones you need to enter password first to permit other device to download a file from it. Make it sure that you did this so we can guarantee the devices are paired properly. Distance, size of the file, and restriction are the factors that causes the transfer of files to fail.

If you want to transfer files between your laptop and another device via Bluetooth, you need to make sure that both devices are paired correctly. Also, check the Bluetooth settings on your laptop and configure it correctly. Make sure the Bluetooth connection is activated on your laptop. To activate or turn on Bluetooth, press on the Bluetooth button located on the upper left portion of the keyboard.

For optimum speed, both the laptop and the other device must be not too far from one another. Distance affects the transmission of the data and other obstructions that may block the transmission like walls.
