I have a Toshiba laptop and the keyboard is not working properly. Some of the keys are not working such as PRTSC SYSRQ. Can anyone help me on how I can resolve my problem? Thank you.

You might have accidentally wet the keyboard inside that made the keyboard malfunction like that or the keyboard itself already gave up. What particular keys are your problem? There are some functions on the laptop keyboards that requires you to press FN first and then hold it and then press the button that you need to perform your desired input.

I suggest you replace it with a new one if it really is the keyboard that is broken or you have wet it accidentally. You can also use an external keyboard for the mean time but preferred to use USB type keyboards as it is more portable to use. Bring to a service center if you don't know how to change keyboard on your laptop.

Hi,

If some of your buttons are not working and some are missing in your laptop computer, then it would be best for you to call your original equipment manufacturer (Toshiba ) and have the keyboard replaced. If it's out of warranty and you don't want to purchase a new keyboard, then try looking for the missing key.

Once you find it, you should be able to snap it into place. For the non working keys, you may need to reseat the keyboard cable that connects it to the motherboard. Check Toshiba's website and see if this is detailed on the manual. If it doesn't work, you only other option would be to use an external keyboard.

Thank you. Hope it helps.
