Hi,

Whenever I open a link in Thunderbird, Firefox opens in front of Thunderbird thus blocking my reading in Thunderbird. Is there an application that can prevent Thunderbird from leaving focus while I click the links in it?

Hello Dear , This not a major problem, not require any third party application to keep focus in thunderbird. First you should try and check that firefox is setup as a default browser. To check it you should go to tools menu then option then advance tab then where written always check to see that firefox is your default browser, then you click check now if is it set as default you should change it.

Hi Wexler,
From the way it looks you want your Thunderbird mail client to remain on top of other windows all of the time.
Here is a way to get this accomplished. There is an add-on for Thunderbird called “Always on Top”.
This allows your thunderbird window to get pinned and don’t get affected by other windows when you click a link.

That’s the default behavior of applications on the computer. When you have a program running and you start a new program, the new program will go in front moving the previous application in the background and goes the cycle.

That’s why when you click a link in Mozilla Thunderbird, it will launch the default browser of your computer and it is Mozilla Firefox which goes in front automatically moving Mozilla Thunderbird in the background. If you don’t want this to happen and you want to set Mozilla Thunderbird to always on top, you can use an application called Actual Window Manager.

It supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. Unfortunately, this is not free. It costs $49.95 but you can download the free trial which works for 60 days. For more info on keeping Mozilla Thunderbird on top, go to Keep Mozilla Thunderbird on top of other windows.
