I have installed Joomla version 1.5 on my system and it went fine to the point of creating sample data. I am running this on Windows XP. Please have a look at the error and tell me the solution. Appreciate your help. Regards.

Hi Mildred, check that the following are correct, on Database settings put Username:root password:leave it blank then under FTP configuration just leave the FTP setting they way they were(do not put anything). An error is as a result of either the above settings i prefer you used v1.7 or the latest version. Thanks let me know if this was helpful and do not hesitate to get back to me if you get a problem
This error comes out from your Joomla! installer that could not process an XML response from your server. To fix this, try the following workarounds:
1. Modify the advanced setting on your Database Config page and change it to a non-default radio button. Do not back up your old Joomla table just drop the table and perform a fresh install.
2. Try renaming the configuration.php-dist into configuration.php.
3. Edit the file /installation/sql/mysql/joomla.sql or /installation/sql/mysql/sample_date.sql file and change it to TYPE=MyISAM to ENGINE=MyISAM.
