I use hosting account as Ipage. com. I am trying to install Joomla 1.7. After selecting language when I press next the screen hangs and doesn't proceed anymore.

For installation  you  should make your computer as a local server. For  that reason you can  run  Apache / mysquel  in your computer. But  these two programme found in a integrated  form. XAMPP is such kinds of software. Again  Apache2triad  is another software like that . You can use  anyone of them. For installation process you can go through the site.
