SET USER AND NETWORK OPTIONS ON MAC

1) To use Windows domain on Mac you need to set a static DNS address. You will require IP address of the domain.

2) On your Mac, open System preferences. Click on Network.

3) You will be redirected to network settings.

4) Change the setting from DHCP to Manually.


5) In the DNS section enter your domain IP address. Fill up the information according to your network settings.

6) Go back to the System preferences page and click on Accounts.

7) To carry out the changes, press on LOCK. Then click on the Join button.


8) Go to Open Directory Utility.


9) You will be redirected to Directory Utility. Click on Lock.

10) Type in your domain information and computer ID.


11) Open Show advanced options.

12) Click on Bind and enter your administrative username as well as the password.

13) Click OK.


14) If the Bind button changes to the Unbind button then you are joined.

15) Click OK and then press Apply.

If you see the green dot against the Network Account Server, then you have successfully joined the Mac to the Windows domain.
