Android 4.1 Jelly Bean builds upon Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and there are no significant changes in the Android OS but it makes the platform faster, smooth and intuitive.

Project Butter is a key improvement which enhances overall sensitivity and responsiveness of the system. As a result swiping, scrolling and animation becomes smoother and more fluid.

Now the widgets are resizable so the widgets can change its size automatically to fit in a particular home screen.

The default Android keyboard is updated to improve predictions. Previously on Ice Cream Sandwich Voice Typing dictation could not work offline which is now available on Jelly Bean.

Android has improved it’s built in search function which is now more graphical and user friendly with search “cards”. Another addition in search function is Google now which lets you find the right results in right time.

Jelly bean also includes updates to Google Beam, the built-in camera app and accessibility features.
