Hi Maria,

I will certainly help you. The Linux Mint OS is a very good OS and the Mozilla Thunderbird is a very popular email client that is freely available. The Microsoft Outlook program runs only on Windows operating system. So that it is impossible to run Outlook on Linux Mint OS. You can try that on Windows only.

Hey Maria,

They are two ways of possibly doing this, none of which are completely reliable for mission critical use. For that, keep using the Linux programs.

The first would be to install Wine, an application under Linux that allows for the running of native windows programs. To install wine, open a terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and type the following commands in the terminal:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.5
sudo apt-get install winetricks

After that visit here, where they have clear instructions on installing Microsoft office 2007.

The second way and more reliable one would be to run Windows as a virtual machine on your mint installation. Here is a succinct guide for that.
After that create a new Windows virtual machine, the Virtualbox wizard will guide you. Then install Microsoft office on it. Hope that helps
