  • Intel core duo processor or the later kind has thermal sensors called DTS (Digital Thermal Sensor). To determine the temperature of each of the cores of the computer processor. Now if you have a much older computer there are programs that are designed to monitor temperature of your computer’s processor, hard drive video card etc.
  • Here are some of them.
  • HWMonitor - displays the temperature of your CPU, hard drive, video card GPU and the min and max values of each.
  • Core Temp - CPU core temperature monitor.
  • Speed Fan – a great program to monitor the temperature of your CPU, hard disk and also display and monitors the fan RPM readings of each of one in your computer.

Yes you can. Look for third party applications on the net measures the temperature of your CPU. Try the everest, i have tried it before and it gives me accurate figures as for me. Click on this link: http://www.lavalys.com/support/downloads/. There is also another way of telling how hot is your cpu through your BIOS, there is an option there that you can check your cpu temperature. you can also set there the maximum temperature that it could reach and put your system to hibernate to cool off. Usually at 90 degrees celsius it would be the at it's hottest rate already. cpu temperature also depends on type and your home temperature.
