Is it possible to install Linux or Ubuntu in USB flash drive

I have a USB flash drive on my computer. Is it possible to install Linux or Ubuntu in my USB flash drive and start up my computer from there? Will I still be able to get into all files, change printing options and do other things if I log in to my computer using the USB flash drive? What effect, if any, would it have on my hard disk? Thanks for your help.

It's not possible, the possible is that you can run Linux from your usb flash drive, and to do that, you have to create bootable usb, you can get into all files, and there no effect on your hard disk.

Hi,

It's not hard to make a Linux bootable from a USB drive first you must understand there are some Linux  operating system are no comparison to a USB flash drive first make a bootable ISO file from a Linux operating system just convert it check from Google how to make an ISO bootable USB.
