Issues with new laptop connecting through VPN

Hello, I just got an Apple laptop (first one!) but now I am having issues connecting through my company's VPN. I checked first and they told me any laptop would be compatible so I went this route. However, I never had issues connecting before and now it just will not connect.  Any troubleshooting tips for me? Thank you.

  • First of all, make sure your router supports the VPN connection
  • Check whether the internet connection is strong enough and is properly set
  • If the Firewall is activated, try deactivating it
  • make sure the password is entered correctly
  • Verify the accuracy of the date and time settings of your computer
  • Contact the network administrator and verify the facts that you have a proper connection and domain permissions on the remote access server, the Winsock proxy client is currently deactivated and there is no DNS resolution problems.
  • Further, you can try changing the encryption settings of your computer to match with those of the VPN
