Issues in acceptance of MS OS to other programs, please help.

Are there still issues on the acceptance of the new Microsoft operating system to other programs from the old one? The reason I am asking this is because, I attempted to integrate my calendar data between my Microsoft default email client and a web-hosted calendar application but failed. This was not a problem when I was using the previous version of operating system. Is this a temporary bug or is there something I need to do for the integration to push through?

Hi user

Yes, older programs have difficulty in keeping up with new operating system causing incompatibility or many kind of bugs. The author of the software have to change their program to keep pace with newly emerging operating system. However the program will have to face many errors in the new operating system for some time before settling in. This is an inevitable drawback.

Likewise this could be a compatibility issue or could be caused by some bug in the Microsoft email client or the web hosted calendar application that you mentioned. It's up to you to check the compatbility by referring to the help section in each application.

Are you referring to Windows 7? If so, Windows 7 compatibility shouldn’t be a problem with many of the recent programs now. If should also be compatible with many of the older programs and it can also run them in compatibility mode if in case they require older versions of the operating system. If you’re software is more compatible with Windows XP instead of Windows 7, then it may be better if you have Windows XP Mode installed. If at least have Windows 7 Professional, you will have the option to install this virtual machine. Once it’s in, try running your calendar application again and see if there are no more problems. If there still is, then try checking the application’s settings and see if anything changed that may have caused the problem.
