Hi,

I upgraded Office desktop version to Office 2010 and the user often tries to add new documents into a document library running on MOSS.

The error message displays when a user tries to open Word 2010 “This file could not be found”.

I want resolution related to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thomas,

You need to first eliminate server based issue by checking if you are able to open the server link in plain Windows Explorer. If that is the case, you can be sure that the server is fine. You can the below options:

  1. Make sure ALL of the operating system and Office are up to date and running on the latest versions
  2. Verify that the file name does not contain any forbidden characters
  3. Try to set up the server connection in application again

Hi!

The problem occurred because there might be a missing or corrupted file after you have updated.

You should try uninstall back your Word 2010. This might be a big step for you to solve this problem as there is a high chance a file is missing or corrupted.

Then, you definitely must install back your Word 2010.

If this does not happen, you should using a restore point.

That's all. Hopes you can solve your problem.
