Hi,

I have an iPod Nano, 5th Generation with video and I always use MacBook to connect my iPod with iTunes. Couple of days ago, I connected my iPod with a Windows computer, to charge.  After fully charged, I just disconnected my  iPod from the PC and tried to listen to a song, but it  freezes and I couldn't do anything.

Then I again connect it with the Windows computer and it showed in computer to format. I gave format and then tried again, but IT doesn't work. Whenever I turn it on, it just freezes and now it is also not detecting my MacBook iTunes. I'm requesting someone to help me solve my problem. I've lots of  collection of audio in my iPod Nano. I want to listen to those songs. Thanks.

Dear Masud,

Seems you are struggling very much with your iPod. You always use your MacBook to connect your iPod with iTunes. It's means, your iPod was in Mac format. First when you connected with Windows computer for charging your iPod, it asked you to format again to turn into Windows format, and you gave the format, that's why now your iPod is not being detected with your Mac.

Another problem you are  facing is your iPod totally freezes, it won't work. This is a common problem for those using iPods. If you use your iPod for a long time, you may recognize that, the back side of your iPod becomes hot. Thing is, using your iPod for a long time may either freeze or as I mentioned the back side of your iPod may become hot. I've got a solution for you. Follow the instruction as I mentioned below:

Process

First of all connect your iPod, with your MacBook and then hold circle button and up menu option until you see your iPod restart and apple logo appears in your iPod screen. This process will help your iPod back in work again and to detect with your Mac iTunes. Hope, if you follow the above instruction carefuly, you can able to listen your  music's in your iPod again. Thanks.

I'm really happy to know that, now you are able to listen to the audio from your iPod. I've got one more suggestion for you. Suggestion is, to update your iPod firmware regularly. Update  is very much important to keep your iPod running smoothly. Not only the iPod but also you have to update your iTunes software. Cheers.

Dear Masud,

You look really curious.  iTunes is the main base of iPods you know because, without iTunes you won't be able to sync music, videos etc.

If you do not update your iTunes regularly, it might happen that your iPod does not detect with your iTunes software. It's because when there is an updated version of iTunes, if you don't update and also if your iPod is not updated, then iTunes won't detect your iPod and same iPod will not detect your iTunes.

So, what you need is not only iTunes but also need to update your iPod.

Take care,

Sumya

Hello Masud,

I have the same iPod like yours and faced the same kind of problems, that you're now facing. Could you please update your iTunes software and then connect your iPod with your Mac. I think your iTunes is not updated, that's why your iPod is not detecting. I tried the followings :

Or you can do another thing, just hold down the Play/Pause option for a while; you can see your iPod screen turn black, it's in sleep mode.  Now press the center button again and see whether your iPod is working or not. Hope these will help you.
